So, what did we do with the rest of the summer? Take it easy? Hang out at the pool?
Um, no. It was a crazy summer, people! Totally insane! First off, D turned SEVEN! My darling sweet little Danish souvenir. (And I just realized I said he was 7 in the last two posts when he was still 6. Darn. Oh well.) Anyway, he is SEVEN! Hooray!!
Early in the summer I decided to do something fun with the kids at least a couple of times a week, and lo and behold I think we actually did it. We did chin movies, played hopscotch, went on a picnic, did a puzzle, had a water fight and dance parties and a paper airplane contest and a Star Wars Movie day, and made moon sand, tons of yummy treats, a lego city, fairy houses, and huge structures out of toothpicks and marshmallows. To name a few. It was a great summer filled with great things. And I even remembered to take a few pictures of some of the fun.
(Yes, that's Chewbacca on his head ...)
We also took a trip to Massachusetts to play with friends and family (and go to my hubby's 20th high school reunion),
sent TWO boys off to scout camp this year,
played with T's (4) hair,
(I told them they could only get mud up to their knees - and then their Dad tackled them.)
(he always makes me laugh)
And what did we do in between all this mania? Hung out at the pool of course! Sometimes solo, sometimes with friends, and sometimes I even remembered my camera.
Yes, those are my CHILDREN (and husband) flipping their bodies off the diving board. They had fun and I survived without a heart attack.
Oh yeah, we also had a garden. With an overabundance of zucchini and grape tomatoes.
And now we know why I wasn't that great at blogging this summer! I'm tired just chronicling it. But it was a great fun crazy maniac summer!! And now summer is over and school has just begun. Which means I still have another post to do before I'm caught up ...
